Coronation Lodge Sign Restoration and Building Improvements

Brethren,
The Lodge's Building Committee has been busy this summer improving and
beautifying our Lodge. Included in the work has been the addition of
composite boards to our front entranceway, installing a brick façade along
the west wall base, re-roofing the back addition and the restoration and
installation of the original Coronation Lodge electric sign.

The Coronation Lodge sign originally was on the building from the 50's up
until the renovations done in 1988. The sign was stored in the back shed
and pretty much forgotten about. It was restored by Mike, Craig
and Dave, re-lit and mounted above the entrance way and has
the saying "Happy to meet, Sorry to part, Happy to meet again" inscribed on
the rear side of the sign so that all can see it when departing the Lodge
building.

Thank you to Mike, David and Craig along with John, his son Ryan,
Dale, Peter, Bill and Bill (my apologies if I
have missed someone) for their hard work in keeping our Lodge property
beautiful.

Fraternally,

Official Opening of Elmvale District High School Addition

Brethren,

This evening Bro. John Holt and I had the distinct pleasure of representing Coronation Lodge at the official opening of the Elmvale District High School Addition.  The addition was funded through a partnership of the Provincial Government, Municipal Government and the local community.  The addition includes a new kitchen, combined cafeteria/auditorium (affectionately called a cafatorium) and a new gymnasium.  The community has access to the use of these facilities and it is definitely a win-win for all.  Almost two years ago our Lodge raised funds through a couple of dinners for the school and we presented a cheque to the Fundraising Committee at that time.  Tonight we were honoured along with many other community partners for our assistance.

The role of the Lodge is not to be a service club, but it is equally important to be part of the community and show that we care.  Thank you to all who donated to this project.  Tonight was one of my proudest moments as a Mason.

Fraternally,

V.W. Bro. David Don

Coronation Lodge wins it's 7th straight Traveling Gavel

Brethren,
On Wednesday evening the Lodge won it's 7th straight Traveling Gavel at Beaver Lodge in Thornbury.  The brethren of Beaver Lodge did a wonderful job of ritual work in the second degree and after the degree did a poignant Service of Remembrance as is their tradition at their November meeting.  The Traveling Gavel is up for grabs at the next Official Visit as our own R.W. Bro. James Stiles is welcomed in his own Lodge on November 28th.

We will be presenting R.W. Bro. Stiles with a cheque for $1000.00 for his District Project - "Huronia Ride for Dad" (monies will go towards Prostate Cancer research in our area).  The money was raised at the two BBQ's we held in the summer months.

It is also "Pie Night".  Please consider attending to support our DDGM and have some fellowship afterword enjoying at least one piece of pie (or more if your waistline can handle it).
